The award and an honorarium are presented at the Graduate School Commencement ceremony in May.
Examples of academic accomplishments can include published or unpublished papers, essays, research posters, presentations, readings, performances, or other works demonstrating superior accomplishment.
Nomination Process and Requirements
Brown University faculty members may make nominations for this award. Students in terminal master’s degree programs or executive master’s programs and doctoral students enrolled in a secondary master’s program through the Open Graduate Education program are eligible for nomination.
A nomination letter is required, and should include evidence of superior achievement in thesis, projects, or research. Nomination letters should provide detail about how the student’s academic product/project exceeds the quality of excellent work typically expected in the program. The letter should also provide evidence of how the product/project distinguishes or prepares the student for a life of usefulness and reputation. Please furnish a digital copy of the student’s academic product/project, where feasible.
Deadline
The deadline for nominations is April 1, 2024. Nominations should be made through UFunds, found under the Graduate Student and Alumni Awards button.
All nominations are reviewed by the Graduate Council, which also makes final determinations regarding the winner.
