September 2 Fulbright Fellowship initial application deadline (internal) at 4:30 pm
September 3 Classes begin
September 5 Deadline for October graduates to submit the Application to Graduate via Banner
September 5 Thesis and dissertation submission deadline for February graduates
September 8-26 Fulbright campus interviews
September 16 Last day to add a course without a fee
September 19 Black at Brown [Graduate] Grant Deadline
September 30 Last day to add a course (includes late fee), change from audit to credit, or change a grade option declaration (5 pm deadline)

October 1 Research Mobility Fellowship applications due for Spring travel
October 1 Banner-based Application to Graduate open to students who expect to complete in February (Registrar's requirement)
October 13 Indigenous Peoples' Day
October 8 Final submission deadline for Fulbright Fellowship at 5:00 pm
October 17 Last day to change from credit to audit in a course (5 pm deadline)

November 1 Deadline for students on leave to notify the Graduate School of a desire to return in the spring and to submit materials for readmission
November 3 Fall cycle Pandemic-related Appointment Extension applications due
November 10 Registration for Spring classes for continuing students
November 19* Spring term bills generated (see Student Accounts and Billing)
November 26-30 Thanksgiving recess

December 2 Application deadline for Brown Executive Scholars Training (BEST) Program
December 12-20 Final exams

January 1 Spring term bill due date
January 9 Deadline for February graduates to submit the Application to Graduate via Banner
January 9 Thesis and dissertation submission deadline for February graduates
January 12 Banner-based Application to Graduate open to students who expect to complete in May (Registrar's requirement)
January 21 Classes begin

February 3 Last day to add a course without a fee
February 10 Open Graduate Education application deadline
February 14-17 Long weekend
February 18 Last day to add a course (includes late fee), change from audit to credit, or change a grade option declaration (5 pm deadline)
February 28 Application deadline for Brown/Wheaton Faculty Fellowship (to be released after focus areas have been confirmed)
February 28 Deadline to apply for an Appointment Extension for fall 2026
February 28 Application deadline for Joukowsky Summer Research Award

March 1 Nominations due for Faculty Mentoring and Advising Award
March 3 Deadline for DEP applications (submit through UFunds) for Humanities & Social Science students who will be beyond the sixth year (can also be submitted after this date to be reviewed on a rolling basis)
March 6 Last day to change from credit to audit in a course (5 pm deadline)
March 13 Spring application cycle Pandemic-related Appointment Extensions due
March 21 Research Mobility Fellowship applications due for Fall travel
March 21 Deadline for student applications for Deans' Faculty Fellowships (nominations and recommender forms due on March 28)
March 21-29 Spring Recess

April 1 Deadline for students who are on medical leave to notify the Graduate School and their program about returning for the summer and to submit materials for readmission

April TBA Nominations for Graduate Student Contribution to Community Life Award
April 17 Deadline for May graduates to submit the Application to Graduate via Banner

June 1 Deadline for students on leave to notify the Graduate School of a desire to return in the fall and to submit materials for readmission
