Counseling and Psychological Services

Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) takes a short-term, goal-focused, and collaborative approach to mental health services to assist students in improving their lives.

Our diverse staff offers a range of psychological treatment and prevention services in an inclusive, compassionate, affirming and socially just environment. Offerings include individual and group counseling, medication management, outreach and programming, referral services, training and consultation for faculty, students, and staff, crisis stabilization, and 24/7 urgent care services. Additionally, CAPS has partnered with TimelyCare to offer a menu of mental health services that include scheduled counseling sessions and digital self-care. All enrolled Brown students are eligible for 12 free counseling sessions per academic year. Students can also access their catalog of digital self care content to learn more about improving sleep hygiene, managing stress, or practicing mindfulness meditation. To access this service students must register on the platform by accessing the CAPS website.
