Spring In-person Planning for Master’s Students

We hope that your fall semester is going well. We recognize the importance of advance planning and are therefore reaching out regarding the Spring 2022 semester.

Brown University currently plans to operate in person for the spring semester. This means that master’s students should expect to be in residence and active on campus during the semester.

Given the ongoing public health situation, we recognize that some master’s students may request an accommodation to continue their studies remotely due to medical considerations or a disability. Students who would like to request an accommodation  to study remotely due to medical considerations or a disability must contact Student Accessibility Services no later than November 19.

Master’s students who would like to request an exemption to study remotely for any other reason should contact the Director of Graduate Study in their program and Shayna Kessel via email no later than November 19. This is a hard deadline, and requests received after this date will not be considered.

Though unanticipated changes in the public health situation are always possible, we hope this information will inform your planning for the spring. Please also visit the Healthy Brown website for current University public-health policies.

Sincerely,

Andrew G. Campbell, Dean of the Graduate School, and Leah VanWey, Dean of the School of Professional Studies
