Masatoshi Shimosuka

I would like to learn more about engineering science to develop innovations in my home country of Japan. Prior to coming to Brown, I served as a government official in the science and technology sector for several years. From this experience, I believe we have to combine emerging technologies with businesses to create a future society. Through the business process, people are able to obtain beneficial services and products. To achieve this goal, I am acquiring skills for technology management and entrepreneurship in the PRIME.

Through the required courses, I am increasing my knowledge of business frameworks, as well as technology-related business viewpoints and my knowledge of intellectual property treatments and the technological lifecycle. Additionally, I chose the class for pattern recognition and machine learning, and it will help me to understand one of the key technologies for the next society and enhance my future career. Learning with highly motivated peers and faculty members has been a valuable experience.
