SPOTLIGHT: Kirk Robinson, Manager of Student Development

Robinson’s role at the Graduate School involves assisting with the management and administration of distinctive opportunity programs such as Open Graduate Education, Research Matters, Brown Executive Scholar Training (BEST) and more.

Kirk RobinsonKirk Robinson's number one priority for graduate students “is to make sure they thrive at Brown. I hope to assist in facilitating their holistic growth and transformations into outstanding scholars, teachers and professionals,” he says. 

He is excited to be working in a unit dedicated primarily to the graduate student experience. “Coming to work every day and interacting with colleagues all working towards the goal of creating an enriching environment in which graduate students can thrive is invigorating. Professionally, I could not ask for more,” says Robinson.

Robinson was most recently at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in the role of Coordinator of Advising, where he provided academic and career advising to students and worked with faculty and staff on advising and curriculum. He received a PhD in Educational Leadership -  Student Affairs in Higher Education from Miami University and received from the University of Central Florida a Master’s degree in Social Science Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. 

Robinson is happy to be back in the Northeast and closer to his favorite professional baseball team, the New York Mets.
