Social Opportunities

Opportunities abound for international students — and all students — to meet new people, make friends, and have fun!

Graduate students can engage in activities ranging from the Brown Ballroom Dance Club to volunteering in the local community through the Swearer Center.
OISSS also works closely with the International House of Rhode Island, located just a few blocks from the Brown campus at 8 Stimson Avenue. International House is an independent, non-profit, community-based multicultural center and meeting place for the community, international students, scholars, and visitors. Programs include both social events and resources such as affordable ESL classes and one-on-one ESL tutoring.
