Neuroscience-NIH Program

Brown's neuroscience program is in partnership with the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The combination of faculty at Brown and NIH creates a unique range of research opportunities.

Students with interest in neuroscience research at NIH should apply to the Graduate Partnerships Program. All students take their first year of coursework and instruction on the Brown campus. In the second year and beyond, Brown students continue with coursework and laboratory research on the Brown campus, while the Brown-NIH students move to NIH. Faculty committees advise students throughout their studies. All students receive their Ph.D.s from Brown after satisfying program requirements and completing a significant body of original research.
