1. ID Card and Brown Card Access (Building Access): Your Brown Card access will end on May 31 for active students or on your withdrawal date.
2. Keys & Property: All keys and University property must be returned before your official withdrawal date. All personal items should be removed at the same time.
3. Email & Digital Services
Brown Email Account (@brown.edu): Students graduating with a degree are eligible for an @alumni.brown.edu 10 days after degree completion. Student email is forwarded to that account for 90 days. For students who are withdrawing, your brown.edu account terminates immediately upon withdrawal. You must transfer all emails to a personal account before the official withdrawal date.
Prepare for discontinuation of all Student Services: Access to the following services will cease shortly after degree completion or withdrawal. File migration is mandatory for the following:
- Cloud Storage (Google Drive, Adobe Creative Cloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, Qualtrics): You must immediately save or transfer all your files to a personal account. File recovery cannot be guaranteed.
- Microsoft Office 365: This goes into read-only mode up to 30 days after graduation.
- All Other Services Lost: Brown Wi-Fi (use Brown-Guest instead), VPN (email cap@brown.edu if needed), Canvas, Library Access, RIPTA, Printing, Zoom, and Two-Step Verification. You should also uninstall all non-subscription-based Brown software.

4. Brown University Student Health Insurance
Insurance remains active until August 14 for all covered students. You may be eligible to purchase up to 3 months of extended coverage. See information on the Brown SHIP page. Contact Assistant Director of Student Health Insurance Operations, Erika Lorange for details.
Please note that access to University Health Services ends with the close of the academic semester for active students or on your withdrawal date.
5. Student Records
You may order an official transcript or enrollment verification at any time from the Office of the Registrar. If you've completed degree requirements but not yet received your diploma, you may request a Certificate of Degree Completion from the Registrar's Office. Please contact Registrar@brown.edu to make this request.
