Since last May, I’ve had the pleasure of serving as Interim Associate Dean for International Graduate Students. Advocating for, listening to and collaborating with international graduate students has truly been my privilege. The international graduate student community is incredibly energetic, and I urge everyone to participate in their upcoming activities.
Last week, the Iranian Students Association hosted a huge celebration of Norooz, the beginning of the new year 1398 in the Persian calendar and the first day of spring, in Sayles Hall. The International Community Fellows will lead a Global Voices event on the evening of April 5th at The Underground, with a wine reception to follow. For more information about these and many other activities, check out the Global Brown Center website and the important dates listed in this newsletter. The wonderful community of international students is one more reason why Brown continues to receive record numbers of applications from international students every year – defying national trends – and one of the most important ways that Brown can be a home away from home.
